My name is Dixie Vogel. I am a webhost & publisher from Kansas–but please don’t hold that against me; and be forewarned: anyone who asks me about Toto’s location and chortles will be promptly slapped. No passing go, no collecting $200. Save us both the trouble.

I am an eccentric, pink-haired new age hippie chick and die-hard do-gooder. In addition to Good Karma Host–webhosting and warm fuzzy advice blog–I am a Tarot reader, and write a daily Tarot column on ElsaElsa.com–the oldest astrology blog on the internet.

I’m totally annoying on the subject of Low Carb, by the way (as I lost over 100 pounds), so don’t even mention it without being aware you’re speaking to an an evangelist.  My daughter refers to me as a “Carb Nazi,” but I think that’s a gross exaggeration. Just because I call her PopTarts evil, she thinks I’m over the top or something. I don’t know what she’s thinking.

Before I got into “virtual work,” I spent many years working with various nonprofit social services. I’ve done suicide intervention, crisis hotline work,  battered women’s shelter work, casework with people who have severe and persistent mental illness, and spent a few years in detox. Ahem–As an employee, not a client. Although to be completely honest, some days all that Librium we had locked in the file cabinet looked pretty damn good.

I’ve been with my delightful husband over 20 years now. We also have some socially-challenged-but-we-love-’em anyway cats. I was clearly a cat in a former life.  Myself, my husband and my “baby” are pictured here.

I tend to Twitter on my personal account some about what I’m doing (articles, links, tarot), especially interesting or useful stuff I find in the wild, general geeky chitchat, and observations from the trenches. And whatever the heck else I feel like. I’m not exactly…regimented by nature. You’d have never guessed, right? The company twitter is @GoodKarmaHost and the announcements feed twitter is @GKHnews.
